Truhoma always prides itself in using cutting-edge technologies in innovative ways to add 100% transparency, traceability and efficiency in philanthropy. Lately, we have recognized the decline in public donations for Ukraine and the rise of AI-generative art, so we decided to use it in an unusual way to help Ukrainian civilians caught in the conflict. Together with the Pristop agency we launched a campaign called “Make AI-generated art, not human-generated war” to encourage donations amid the war in Ukraine that has been raging for over 6 months now.
We used real news headlines and events about the ongoing war in Ukraine and applied them in a popular text-to-image AI tool Craiyon. The result is a series of surreal online posters featuring powerful images made by AI, which are hard to distinguish from reality. The message we are sending is that unlike AI-generated images, the war in Ukraine is real and is still being “generated” by humans, while millions of Ukrainian civilians are still in need of support.
Ana Lukner Roljic, founder of Truhoma: “At Truhoma we believe that such images should only be generated by AI, not by human hands. But the reality is different. Ukrainian civilians are still requiring our help, in their everyday life they are struggling without basic necessities. We have recently seen a decline in donations as many are getting used to the war in Ukraine. That’s why we decided to use AI art, a powerful creative tool, to attract people’s attention to our mission. With the slogan “From AI art to human help” we are aiming to remind that this human-made war is not over and that your donation will be a direct aid to those who need it the most.”
Together with our partners, we plan to deliver 200 food packages directly into the hands of Ukrainian civilians (you can review the project and donate here). A EUR 40 donation provides a full package containing a variety of canned goods, pasta, rice, coffee, baking powder and other vital food items. In line with our standards of transparent philanthropy, we will track donations and package deliveries on the blockchain and on the ground with the help of Ukrainian volunteers and organizations.
Ana Lukner Roljic, founder of Truhoma: “This campaign is the latest of our efforts to help Ukrainians; in April 2022 we organized a donation project and delivered 500 packages of food to people in Kyiv and its surroundings. We proved that together with people, who support our cause, we can provide real help. Our efforts have already been recognized by Binance, the largest crypto exchange in the world, which went on to make a contribution toward an additional 1,000 packages. Moreover, we also enable and encourage companies to open their own branded projects to donate and measure their own impact.”
The campaign will expand by inviting prominent digital artists to participate and disseminate the call to help Ukrainian civilians through our platform by creating their own AI tributes, and posting them on social media with the hashtag #AIartNotHumanWar
Ula Spindler, Partner at Pristop agency: “In 2022 text-to-image AI art became a big trend worldwide. People are using a number of artificial intelligence tools & algorithms to create digital arts and share it on social media. We decided to use this trend to attract people’s attention to the situation in Ukraine and urge them to donate through Truhoma. Today when there is so much suffering from this war, we need to use all possible visual tools to grab people’s attention on digital media and to engage them into this important humanitarian mission.”
We are urging everyone to donate here and/or spread the word by downloading our media kit and share it with anyone who can help with getting our message across.
