About Project
This year, Vinag 1847 d.o.o. is organising the 1st Wine Underground Festival - a festival of fine wine, entertainment and high cuisine. The Underground Wine Festival, which will take place on Saturday, 24 August 2024, from 8pm onwards in the Vinag cellar, will treat visitors to 30 top winemakers and a varied music and dance programme, while the entire cellar and tunnels will be visually and luminously decorated for an unforgettable wine walk.
"As Vinag is about giving back to nature, we also want to give back to people, which is why we have given the event a charitable twist. We partnered with Truhoma, founded by Ana Lukner Roljić, founder of Ana's Little Star, as we wanted the charity to be 100% transparent and fully committed to people in need. With this project we are raising funds to buy Spar gift cards, which will be used by 3 socially disadvantaged families to choose school supplies, clothes, food and other essentials for their children and the whole family," says Maruša Švelc, the company's CEO, about the event. To this end, we invite you to join the cause and donate to families in need. 💚 As we want to raise as much money as possible, Vinag has decided to honour the two donors with the highest donation with a bottle of Ptuj Cellar's own fine wine or a bottle of Ptuj Cellar's fine wine, which will be given away at the event itself. The donation collection project will be open until Friday 23 August 2024.

This donation is made in cooperation with VINAG 1847, vineyard and winery, d.o.o., Na prehodu 20, 2000 Maribor, which will, in accordance with its general terms and conditions, conduct an auction for two vintage wines. If your donation meets the criteria for obtaining an auction item, Truhoma will provide VINAG 1847, as the other operator, with your telephone number, email address and/or name and surname and the amount of your donation in order to deliver the auction item. A single mother from Izola
"I am a single mum to a 19-year-old daughter. We live in Izola. I work as a nurse and I work three shifts. We live in a rented apartment. I am personally bankrupt, so you know that I get €1100 and out of that I give €600 for the apartment. We are also without a car. I should mention that my daughter has severe allergies, including to certain foods, and is lactose intolerant. Buying special dairy products for her is a major financial burden, as these products are particularly expensive. Despite the fact that my daughter is almost an adult, she too has her own wants and needs. We manage to survive on a monthly basis, as I always find some extra work to do, such as cleaning or helping an elderly person, in addition to my three-shift job. Thank you in advance for your help."
A family of 4 from Grosuplje
"We are a family with two children aged 18 and 13. We live in a rented flat for which we have to pay 500 euros rent and 200-250 euros expenses, my salary is completely used for rent and for the extra insurance. I work part-time as a cleaner and my husband works full-time in a print shop. We are not entitled to a rent subsidy because our bank accounts have shown an inflow of income tax and recourse, so we have exceeded the census. However, we are looking for another flat in the centre of Grosuplje, as it is too far to get to my job and I don't have a driving licence. We live modestly and in need."
A family of 5 from Muta
"Two years ago I separated from my husband. I have four minor children aged 4, 7, 8 and 14. One of them is a child with special needs due to hearing impairment. I have been in a safe house with my children several times because of domestic violence. It was a big expense to find an apartment because we could not stay in the safe house for long. I am not entitled to a rent subsidy as, for once, I do not have Slovenian citizenship. I also have foreclosures on my account, which I am paying off in instalments. After I pay my debts and regular bills, I have no money left to buy food, clothes and everything else my children need. Thank you very much for any help you can give me."
