Helping people after the floods with Truhoma's projekct: Donate for Flood Victims
The floods that hit Slovenia in August left a lot of damage - not only material, but also emotional. People lost their homes and other vital belongings, outbuildings, farms and machinery that helped them work to earn their money; they lost their memories. Many people have not recovered to this day.
At Truhoma, we believe that when such disasters strike, it is necessary to help on a purposeful and long-term basis. In close contact with firefighters, municipalities, social work centres, civil protection and other local initiatives, we reached out to people in the worst affected areas - those who were already suffering from deprivation and hardship before the floods. According to their needs, we bought them various pieces of furniture, kitchen appliances and other important material goods that they lost in the floods and without which they cannot live a good life.

According to their needs, we bought them various pieces of furniture, kitchen appliances and other important material goods that they lost in the floods and without which they cannot live a good life.

I was left with a table and chairs because it was solid wood, and the rest of the wooden furniture had to go to the landfill. Living room with sitting area, lower part of the kitchen, hall cupboards, central stove with burner, cupboards in the vestibule and garage. A few appliances lasted, but unfortunately not the washing machine. A big thank you also to the donor who helped with the funds. I am now slowly picking up the pieces, the contractor has sealed the walls, the insulation has been done, the ceramics are now being laid, and there is no vinyl on the floor yet.
